Castor Bay
The client for these homes had just started working with Ponting Fitzgerald for two houses to be built in Castor Bay on a beautiful site with sea views. They approached Pipi Design to work on the interiors after seeing our Milford project.
The brief was very broad. The homes had to be beautiful and functional with understated quality that would withstand a busy family life. The ultimate intention was to live in one home and sell or rent the other so the palate needed to be neutral with wide ranging appeal and good quality fixtures and fittings.
Pipi Design was to be in charge of the whole process; to be on site every week, work closely with the architect and builders and oversee every detail from the ground up.
To start the process and gain an understanding of likes and dislikes we went through a range of images to drill down on what appealed and why. Then I asked for a wish list of what the client really wanted her new home to offer.
This was a fabulous project with full autonomy from designing the kitchens, bathrooms and laundries, to ensure they would work beautifully and cohesively together; to selecting all the flooring and surfaces, the lighting, the drapes and the furniture for the family home.
I am really pleased with how these houses have turned out - the spaces work beautifully and both homes are stylish with a comfortable and relaxed feel.
